Seen some debate on this on Friendface. What is your favourite item and what should/shouldn't be included on a Christmas dinner main course.

Have to admit with some items it depends a lot how they are prepared - particularly sprouts. Boiled for hours they can be unpleasant but sauteed with some garlic and lardons or chorizo, they are a food of the gods.

May I be one of the first to vote for the magnificent, but woefully underrated brussel sprout? Both yorkshire pudding and swede came under careful consideration too, but to my mind aren't really part of a traditional Christmas lunch.

For me it's sprouts all the way, followed by roast parsnips and roast spuds!

Love bubble 'n' sqeak on Boxing Day more than Christmas Lunch though.

Cold meats, bubble, egg, beans and pickles!

Tricky one as it's not the single item, it's the combination of :

-really crispy roast potatoes
-rare fore-rib of beef with rich gravy
-honey roasted carrots and parsnips
-leeks
-pigs in blankets (obviously)
-a few baked stuffing balls

I shall be alone again this Christmas because:

1) Nobody likes me
2) I don't like anybody

I shall be having gammon, red cabbage braised in port, buttered sprouts with Portuguese black pudding, pigs in blankets a bottle of malbec some Cazcabel and a nice little drop of oramoph.

that made me laugh (sorry) ... hope you enjoy yourself
