Scrooged ,my favorite Christmas movie was on last night. Which includes a quality trailer for "The Night The Raindeer Died" starring Lee Majors. Bill Murray at his best.

I believe it was Spike Lee. I can outline the story for you:

Due to a bizarre loophole in a U11 soccer team (it's a US film), a dog is allowed to turn out for the team. The dog is pretty useful and leads the team to the final with his skillful dribbling & great left feet & right feet. However, the evil coach of the final opponents steals Soccer Dog. But, the kids now believe in themselves & take the game to Extra Time. Soccer Dog then escapes & gets put on for the final 30. A minute from the end the right winger flights a great ball to the backpost, and Soccer Dog rises like a salmon & plants a firm header past the keeper. Eruption!!

A truly magnificent film

Obvious really but I still like "It's a wonderful life". I also love the 1950s' version of "A Christmas carol".

God bless us, every one.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I woke up at 4 this morning. Couldn't get back to sleep, so watched It Happened One Night with Clark Gable. Dabnabbit, what a beauty. Its not Christmassy, but i suppose the Capra sensibilities, humour and romance touched me somewhere.
Not "there".

I've seen Soccer Dog. Its up there with Most Valuable Primate as the best animal sports film of the last 30 years.

The Muppet's Christmas Carol. Undoubtedly Michael Caine's finest acting performance.

:lolol:

Home Alone gets me feeling all festive too.
