What a gay thread.

Back to the point. It has been in the clubs for years, i think it must be something to do with clearing the ridiculous amount of samples in it.

Oh f*** it, just ignore me.

It took ages to get sample clearance.

Loads of dance songs get put in the charts years later. It's stupid! I actually thought it had been released before, does anyone konw for sure?

BTW slightly off topic, but does anyone remember that cr*p song "somebody answer the phone" eek! It was terrible.

Songs don't get put in the charts. They get there on sales.

Promo copies(and white labels) of songs get released before the songs are on sale in the shops. This is so radio and club dj's can play them so people hear them and then buy(or now download) them. Or get the ringtone for their phone.

Rap records, in particular those by Fatman Scoop are made up of lots of samples. The record company were having problems getting clearance for some of them hence the delay in it getting released.

Maybe the people who were refusing to give sample clearance realised how popular the song was and how much money they could potentially make..and then changed their mind.

that's not true fatboy.

It is a simple case of "fatman Scoop" and the producer that originally got him inanely shouting over songs arguing over royalties first and foremost and secondly it is to do with a record company trying to cash in on it as a 12inch as you will find the track on the "save the last dance" soundtrack released about 2 years ago.

It hurts to know this much about hippy to the hop

nope the song originally came from hype man, scoop shouting (annoyingly) over someones mixtape (can't remeber who). I would have thought they would faze this trend out by now, but u still get it whether it's a clue mixtape, kayslay, streetsweepers etc...the only DJ that stays away from it is Tony Toca esta loca AKA tony Touch
