The weekend after that documentary was shown, (if my memory serves me right) we beat Millwall at the Goldstone 3-2, coming back from 0-2 down. F-Troop were in the North....for a while! Treatment (complete with surgical masks) were in the West fighting with the police dogs, (I kid ye not). I must have been 14 or 15 years old & watched the Bosun crew tearing into Millwall at Hove station before the game & in the North Stand during the game.
I can also remember being on the train from Brighton to Hove wearing a plain blue & white scarf, lucky for me I chose that one & not my red white & blue with the dolphins crest, as the carriage was full of Millwall heavies singing "You can stick your stony beaches up your arse!" I obviously kept very quiet.
Ricky Ball & his mates welcomed them at Hove station, big time!

f***ing top lad - BHA legend!!

That Millwall game was the defining moment of me becoming a proper fan, until then I was nothing more than a casual supporter although I,d been to a few games in the previous 18 months. Idont remember them being given the nw terrace even though there were groups of them all over the place including the lot wearing surgical masks in the north stand. All in all it was an intimidating day for a 14 year old wanderbus but the high voltage atmosphere had me hooked,

In London village.
I'm sure we played Millwall in an evening game too , could have been a season (or two) earlier though.

1978/79 season ? We played them in the Cup and the League. I think I went to an evening game with my Anglo-Indian next door neighbour and had a mild heart attack when some 6ft Millwall skinhead entered our train compartment. He actually turned out to be a decent feller.

75-76. Won 1-0. Binney. Lost the return 3-1 at Cold Blow Lane on Good Friday; thank god we lost, otherwise.....well, I don't think the locals would have shaken our hands and said 'Well done, matey' as the game more or less decided the third promotion place.

We played Millwall in two evening games in 78-79, one in the League Cup, one in the League. Won them both.

Yes I remember the away game....went with my dad and brother and a lad from school steve.

We were at the side for that game and witnessed some very unpleasant scenes with brighton fans getting battered.

we were stood by some nutter with a drum I seem to recall and when we scored ( was that also Binney) I ended up smacking this really mouthy Millwall kid in front, and my dad dragging us all away and towards the exit.

looking back, I suppose I had no fear at that time ( or comprehension ( or Brain!!) of millwall as I seem to remember it was one of the first albion away games we went to)
