As you will no doubt already know, Lewes District Council are committing £35,000 towards representation at the Inquiry, which resumes in January next year, in opposition to the Falmer application, .
If you are a resident of Lewes District (which includes Ringmer, Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven and Telscombe Cliffs) who supports Falmer, you may well resent the use of Council taxpayers' money for this purpose. The Lewes DC residents who signed the Falmer For All petition outnumbered those who signed the petition against, by 5:1.
If you are unhappy with the decision to use Council taxpayers' money as above, it would be helpful if you would write to your local councillor(s) accordingly.
If you require details as to which ward you live in, you can contact Lewes DC on (01273) 471600. I have a list of names and addresses of all the councillors if you need them. (Pm me)
It would also be useful to write to Cllr Ann De Vecchi, Leader of the Council, and to John Crawford, Chief Executive. Both can be contacted at Lewes District Council, 32 High Street, Lewes, BN7 2LX. Letters to the local newspaper, the Sussex Express, might also be worth while.
