Dear Sir,

Further to our previous discussions on the subject of Cardiff City's proposed new stadium, I can now advise as follows:

Carwyn Jones, the Welsh Assembly's Environment Minister, has today announced that the Assembly will not be challenging Cardiff City Football Club's planning application for its new 30,000 capacity all-seater stadium.

The Assembly's decision not to call in the application for a public inquiry means that work on the £100 million development will start as early as January 2004.

"This is great news for the city, the club and the people of Cardiff," said Cardiff City Council leader Russell Goodway.

First of I would like to say you are on a par as Bolton, Derby, Forest. and us.

You say £100,000,000 new staduim but where is the money coming from ? He hasn't that kind of money. If you think you are as big as Man utd, Real Mardrid then you are living in wonder land.

2 seasons ago, walking back to the station and two brighton fans wearing colours having a laugh enjoing our draw got set upon and ended up in A&E and the attackers were scaffers.

I can't say I've met TLB or been to Ninian Park. So feel free to flame me if you wish.

However, TLB is a respected and sensible contributer to this board. I believe he attended the NSC Summer meetup, so I'm sure other posters who have met him can vouch that he isn't a thug.

Personally, I spent five years in and around Cardiff when I was at University in Treforest so can vouch that in general Cardiff fans are not thugs. They do have a hooligan element, that isn't in doubt, but to suggest that every Cardiff fan is one is frankly ludicrous.
