Hmmm tricky one

I'd probably go for a (good) Caesar salad

Bouillabaisse (French fish casserole with saffron)

Large ice cream sundae with Kirsch and black forest fruits

we dined at Petrus ( In the Berkley hotel) last Saturday, Marcus Wareing is the head chef, a partner of Gordon Ramsey

it was a f***ing amazing meal, took 4 hours start to finish . . . . . . .it went something like this

Dry MArtini to wet the throat :)

appetisers (wafers with a liver pate mousse, sun dried tomato breadsticks, bread biscuits and a cod roe taramassalata (sp?)

a bottle of red, Aussie variety, one Mrs Zef chose

for starter I had Carpaccio of Aberbeen angus stuffed with Fois gras, served with a dijonaisse, shaved parmesan and wild salad

Mrs Zef had Lobster and langoustine with almond gazpacho to start topped with caviar

mains, where Poulet de bresse for me and Duo of Welsh Lamb for Mrs Zef, more succulent meat I have yet to encounter

we washed the main down with sparkling mineral water and a bottle of Bordeuax, I cant remember the exact vintage but it was top dollar stuff

we had a breather and then hit the cheese trolley, I say trolley, it was more like an articulated lorry . . . . . very very tasty, perfectly ripe, yum yum! washed down with a 77 vintage port

for pre dessert we where offered a rhubarb and strawberry crumble . . . . .exquisit

dessert was something chocolatey . . . in fact it was like getting high on cocao.

we skipped coffee and had a Large 10 year old Macallan single malt to round things off . . . .I was tempted by the 1893 Armanac but sensibility got the better of me.

it was a continuous barrage of delectable delights, and despite the price highly recommended, Ive never encountered such incredible service and quality . . . . .we'll be going back again one day

Thank god I was eating whilst reading this thread, otherwise I fear I wouldn't have made it! As for my own perfect 3 courses I really can't decide as there's just too much really nice food out there:)

I was going to ask the same question of Zef, that sounds like a treat for the missus as long as it's not too ridiculous. That or that Blanc pad out in Oxfordshire.

dinner off the 'tasting menu' is £75 a head

with wine, drinks, port, whiskey and a few 'supplements' it came to 530 for 4 of us, plus £60 tip so say £150 a head for the 'works'

a lot I know, but I'm not getting married again!

and I reckon we'll be going back there as soon as the credit cards have cooled down !

I'd recommend staying at Claridges too . . . breakfast was delectable !

Great thread. Nearly choked on my red pesto chicken pasta and Greek salad (30% cucumber,) when reading Easy 10's! Brilliant.

I'd go for proper French Onion soup, with the bit of bread filled with cheese.

Thai Green curry with extra shoots and sugar snap peas.

Pistachio and mint choc chip ice cream for desert.

Washed down with Leffe.

for your everyday nosh up I'd go for something like . . . .tomato and basil soup (fresh, not you tinned shyte) toad in the hole with some 'proper' suasages, mustard mash and red onion gravy, peas and broccoli

finishe off with a selection of cheese ( brie, stilton, Sussex cheddar with cider and garlic for example)

a bottle of red such as a bordeaux superieur, Valpoliccella or a Barbera perhaps

I can equally lower myself to 3 or 4 stellas, a Withdean feast followed by a skinful of Harveys and a kebab

I love food :clap2:

I would like to devour my meal in the presence of Sir Micky of Adams, and reminisce over the Championship seasons, exchange coy glances, and whisper sweet nothings in his ear, whilst doing that thing where you drink wine with your arms linked.

What about share the same string of spaghetti until your lips meet?
