Sooooo basically between the lot of you for all the amazing women artists in the world they'd only stack up as backing vocalists (except brader post I'm discounting that)

I think to be fair most blokes have gone for rock bands, and most female artists make more civilised music.

a girly band

Suzzanah Hoffs, guitar
Kylie, dancing
Aretha singing
Nina Simone Piano, and pretty bloody good backing vocals
Kates Bush singing too
Annie from Sleeper on bass
wassername from the Velvet underground on pots and pans
Chrissie Hynde songwriting

Thats mostly because there are so few female rock bands, succesful women in rock tend to front the band so it's harder to think of basssists drummer etc.

There are loads of great female singer/guitarists. I really like PJ Harvey but she just wouldn't dislodge Neil in my lineup.

Anyway all female band:
Drums - Moe Tucker
Guitars/Vocals - PJ Harvey
Lead Vocals - Bjork
Piano/vocals - Tori AMos
Bass/vocals - Kim Deal

wasn't being sexist or anything but just interested that most of us associate good rockers as being male.... myself included..
