6210 crowd today, I think that's quite crap for the 1st home league game of the season on the back of a good couple of results tbh

Disappointing result and performance..............but you can,t expect 3 points every week. I thought the team looked a little bit "one trick pony" today..........trying to get in early crosses ALL the time.

we were poor today. Didnt have any drive or shape to the team. Back 4 did a good job however no midfield. Their penalty decision was ropey but we needed to seal victory not sit on it.

It was rubbish, there was hardly anyone there today, looked empty.

Bet / hope Micky is giving them hell right now.

He should be pissed off with himself for not making substitutions earlier and being entirely one dimensional.

I wasn't there but I was very suprised we appeared to be trying to shut up shop with 20 mins to go bringing Lynch on. Wilkins got crucified for bad substitutions last season, what's the opinion of those who were there? Was the game winnable or we we being over run at the time?

It was more a case of putting a defender at the back and moving Richards back into midfield to give us a bit more shape or was it Livermore?

I thought Livermore was LB and Richards in midfield anyway

I was surprised by Harty starting up front and not Virgo. But Harty did play well for the first 30 minutes, but where the f*ck has his pace gone?

Thought Cox had a really poor game today.

Was impressed by Hawkins, but Kuipers was quality today and proof that he is one of the best shot stoppers outside the prem.

A generally poor performance which showed how much we missed Mcleod and Murray. OGH chased and harried and wa general nuisance but offered nothing constructive. When he went off and Virgo went up front that improved that dept but we lost the midfield with nthe lack of steel in it. I would have brought Lynch on and pushed Livermore forward instead of Fraser and even when Lynch did come on I would have taken Fraser off and pushed Livermore forward, as it didnt work with Fraser in midfield.

As John Trollope (Rovers manager ) said on a radio interview MA does not play 100% route one but 90% so they know what to expect. Today proved him right when we continually pumped balls forward in a hit and hope manor.

Word.

If Adams is peeved, he'd batter look at himself in the mirror rather than the side.
We had no reply to a team who came at us for a whole second half.

By the way, Crewe, who many were backslapping MA for beating last week, had 4 goals put past them today. :glare:

We have started the season with a win, but we have done that before - and the word 'Crewe' doesn't register all that strongly to my mind just because they'd always beat us before.

Agreed.

Why pump hopeful long balls up and give yourself a 50/50 chance of keeping possesion everytime ? Bristol City were nothing special today and there for the taking had we chose to try and play football. As it was they dealt easily with everything we had to offer.

To bring it back to the phone in though. I think it was Livermore, or was it Richards ( think they'll be confused with each other a fair bit this season ) that said we had difficulty getting in behind their wing backs and getting crosses in as they played level with their centre backs. Would of been nice to see us at least try though. All I can remember was one decent link up between Livermore & Richards, and Cox continually fail to beat his man.
