Blimey at this rate the family stand is going to a season ticket holder free zone - surely not what the club intended.

Family stand is always pretty popular. Most of us in there get to go to football as we get at least one of the kids out of the house for half the day! A thread with 10 or so posters is hardly representative of what will happen.

I and my firends are all going in the family stand, My son is 6 so I am not worrying about what he wants to do when he is too old to be in there just yet and he loves the fact that people don't stand up in front of him and he can see the game and what is going on on the pitch. I like the fact that he doesn't bring a load of swear words home to say to his mother.

Add to that, You want to go to a game and your 8 year old does not.
Can you
a: Still sit in your seat on your own?
b: transfer your seat to another part of the stadium?
c: not be able to go either without purchasing another ticket.

Assuming the rules aren't changing and can see any reason why they will then:

a: yes you can
b: yes you can proving you get in when tickets are available
c: no not necessary

What you can't do is take a mate in place of your 8 yr old. To do this you must pay an upgrage to the child ticket & move both seats elsewhere. I've done this a couple of times this year for midweek games and its easy to do but you can only do it when tickets are available elsewhere. Current matches at Withdean are close to selling out most weeks so its not a hyperthetical problem that might never exist! I've also been to a couple of mid week matches on my own in Block U and no problem.

I can't see a problem getting ST's in other area's in years to come, but you might not be able to sit where you would like, hence I'm biting the bullet this year and going West, but then again mine is 14 now so the problem is only a couple of years away.
