We walked after the 4th. On the plus side though, the Italian/Polish lad who came with us to his 1st ever Albion game wants to go again(!) Mad bloody fool.

I find it hard to empathise for them, because they got to watch Gullys Girls and I didn't, so. Even though my favourite wasn't there, it's still the proper way to start a Withdean experience.

I was going to go today and take my daughter but as my missus wasn't feeling great, I had to bow up and look after the kids: great decision by the sound of it.

My daughter's first game was the 3-2 defeat to Port Vale last year but she's been since and wants to go again so she hasn't been put off.

I took my boy to his first game today. He's only five, so he paid no attention whatsoever to the game, but I wish he'd had a goal to celebrate, he would have loved that. I got him to pretend we'd scored when Crewe got their fourth. He made B Block laugh by shouting "rubbish" at one point. Seemed to enjoy it though. Brilliant effort by the club, £12 for my ticket and 50p for his, made the usual lonely, miserable Withdean experience a lot happier for me.

My boy's a regular and well used to it. He even had a wry smile on his face when his mate asked him today if that's our worst performance of the season so far. Simply gave him a one word answer - " Walsall ! ".

I usually take one of my boy's team mates on a sort of rota system. His mate who came today has been several times already but got a nice surprise today though, as he won first prize in the kids raffle so is now looking forward to a stadium tour for his next visit

Every time we get a decent crowd we are shit. normally robinson comes on and shows off but not even that effect today.

I agree, the club try to attract these fans and we go and play like that. However, most got cheap tickets, so it could be worse. I feel just as sorry for everyone turning up each week home and away, and bar the win at millwall recently, watch such utter shite.

Gave up the usual seat in the south stand to take the brood and Lady Ampletrouser into the much maligned Family Stand for the Junior Ampletrouser section's first outing to the Field of Dreams. View was nothing like as appalling as one had been lead to believe (have had much worse seats and views in other stadiums) and fair play, there was quite a lot of wholesome entertainment for the brood before the match commenced including Gully and His Girls. Then the poxy game started and I was itching for a good old fashioned swear. Still I have a new form of punishment for brood - play up and I'm taking you to The Albion. All in all a far cry from my first game when I remember the thrill of going on the red cinder track around the pitch at the end to get out of the ground then sneaking onto the pitch and grabing a bit of the holy Goldstone grass where my new hero Fred Binney had belly flopped. Sad little git.

To right, I was about 6 when I was taken to see the 8-2 home drubbing by Bristol Rovers didn't stop me wanting to go the next match.
