I voted yes out of sentiment for terracing, but it ain't gonna happen.

As Fans I believe we should unite behind a campaign for a singing section that has unreserved seating.

The return of terracing is very unlikely, but I reckon safe terracing with limited numbers and restricted to season ticket holders would be ok. The old days of crammed terraces will never return and probably rightly so.

I really don't enjoy sitting down, I don't feel so much a part of the action as in the days of surging down the North stand everytime we scored.

Old fart reminises again!

is standing up in seated areas, as happens at most games, any safer than terracing?

Terracing behind one goal would be fantastic and the noise generated would have a knock on effect on the prawn sandwich eaters seated in the three other stands thus creating a decent atmosphere. It would also, in a small way, serve to intimidate the opposition goalie, and the opposition team when attacking that goal in the way that arguably, the old North used to.

They have an area of terracing behind one of the goals at the AOL Arena in Hamburg. I have been there, it is safe and creates a fantastic atmosphere. If we could replicate something like this, Falmer would be a fantastic place to go to!

With the utmost respect to those families that have suffered due to terracing, I can't help but think Terracing is safer sometimes. The old Wembley felt like a firetrap to me

The terracing alternative could be planned in with the design behind one goal. This is done in Germany. Seats could be removed if terracing is allowed. I am strongly in favour and it will increase the number of people who can get in.

However, this is not the most important bit for me. What I don't like is getting the tickets in advance and beinng allocated a specific seat. I would like a free for all section where supporters can sit anywhere.

This has lots of obvious advantages. Less obvious is the latecomers can sit on the outside and not block everybody's view.

The only way I can see us getting what we want is with a supporter's representative on the Board. Best bet would to co-opt them for a sub-committee.

No terracing is only a pre - requisite for the Premiership isn't it? As we're not going to be there for a few years yet, we should have terracing. Fans like it and the chairman is a fan, so I guess it should be possible.

terracing would get a bit of atmosphere, but im sure all the safety aspects will be looked into to make it safe and to ensure there wont be a hillsborough 2

Has you ever seen any accidents or been involved in any accidents or dodgy situations at football grounds as a results or bad conditions, or seen any such incidents? (Not as result of arguments, crowd violence, pickpockets, police aggravation etc.)

I have have been involved in one potential serious incident (at Aldershot) and seen a few mildly nasty situations (some at the Goldstone) but overall football grounds do not approach anything like railway stations for actual and potential danger.

I will publish the details tomorrow.

As was stated previously the Hillsborough tragedy was not caused by terracing but a whole load of other factors including fences.

Safe terracing or at the very least unreserved seating behind the goal.

It was great fun jumping up and down today when we scored. :bounce:
