Funding needs to be put in place, then there's the small matter of waiting for all of the Uni people being re-sited and then of course there's the even smaller matter of the thing actually being built.

3 years minimum-easy!:(

as far as I am aware:

delivery to prescott and then an agreement....say jan 04

go out to tender for building feb 04

Confirm the funding ( meet with lottery people etc) Sept 04

agree the tender and draw up documents Jan 05

move builders in and start building March 05

Prepare site/excavate June 05

Finish the construction of the site/infrastructure ( roads car parks etc) October 07

All this assumes that Lewes DC will not kick up a fuss when we start widening the roads/ and no other problems come to be, then this looks about right.

I've got a feeling that once Prescott agrees the whole thing will happen very quickly. Knight and perry will already have got in touch with everyone that is needed to get the stadium up ASAP, that is why Perry is on the board is it not??

Start of 2007 would be fine by me anyway but i have a feeling it may be up by 2005 which would be amazing.

f*** it, i don't care as long as the bastard thing gets built.

The first bit is wrong to start off with. We were told the decision would be the end of November/ beginning of December.

I also reckon a lot of the funding talks have already taken place.

And two 1/2 years to build a carpark ???

If the club hasnt got the funding in place already (or at least know where it is coming from) why would we go through all this shit so far?
They must (and i pray) already have some funding in place.
I pretty much think that Macalpines will build it (the whole reason for having a 1% stake in the club) so surely it wont go out to tender?
If this is the case building start late 04 - and approx 18mths to build, road infrastructure is the one that will take the time.
I believe we will be in Falmer in 2 years (heres hoping anyway)

You cannot put something out to tender without having planning permission and where a PE is involved before a decision has been made by the controlling departments.

Legally speaking it has to go out to tender ( especially as the council has an interest), I assume McLapines will come in the cheapest, but things must be seen to be fair.

If you dont know what the tender price is, how do you know what funding to get?

Estimates?
Why go ahead with a project if you havent got a clue on how much it is gonna cost?
Of course they know how much the stadium will cost (or how much they wanna pay).

The Uni buildings have to be replaced before demolition work begins on the old ones (at least that's how I understand it will happen). The Uni buildings are a critical piece of the puzzle though.

If we're in a partially built Falmer in 2 years then we will all be very happy people.

The next big issue will be getting the University of Brighton to move off the site. That needs them to do some building elsewhere on the campus. And that will need planning permission from the City Council. Hopefully there won't be any objections.

No doubt the terms on which the Club will take over the site are being dealt with in the negotiations with the University that have been taking place over the past few months.

When it comes to roads, sherriffbart, Lewes District Council will have no say. The necessary planning permission will come with the stadium approval itself (ie Prescott decides) and Lewes DC aren't a highway authority anyway.

The Highway Authority (East Sussex County Council) has raised no highway objections to the latest access proposals which are being considered when the Public Inquiry resumes.

that is really good news LB.

Do you concur with my other points abouts about timings and the tender process ( as i assume this was mentioned at the PE)

Whenever it is, what a day it will be seeing the boys run out to the sound of GOSBTS on a decent PA with 20,000 albion fans cheering on their team.

Can't f***ing wait.
