I usually go all speechless in front of ladys...especially when they flirt with me so

Oh dear, you're going to tell me now that either (1) you're 14 years old, or (2) you're married to a 6ft tall former East German Olympic shotputter named Birgitta who just read my message and is on her way up here to threaten me?

After the Goldstone and Withdean I'd settle for a workmanlike stadium like Rushden's ( but much bigger). As long as the facilities are good the only other proviso I'd like to make is that the acoustics will give the place atmosphere and that normally means low roofs.

State of the art, given the finances, may be beyond our means??

Only just realised when reading a review about Withdean that its designed by McAlpine. Made me realise that the view is good for any position so the stadium should be magic. Please just give us a behind the goal home fans singing terrace.

Please.

how poetic, 26 is a great age. Though 27 getting ever closer in my case, dammit. I'm 5'9, so bring your Tom Cruise style high heels...

Just because it is built with a truss beam supporting the roof rather than a cantilever roof as at stoke etc should not take much if any longer.i think the ground will need a lot of levelling out first which will take a while.

Our stadium deserves to be the eighth wonder of the world. We could build a Great Wall around the stadium which would protect the beatiful Hanging Gardens parkland inside. Pyramid-shaped roofs would make a nice design. A statue that would match the Colossus and maybe even a Great Library to record the proud history of our club.

What a marvellous picture but are you sure that it is not Moel Famau (Clwydian Range) looking across from the Deva Stadium!!?

:lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Back to the original question it has to be the best state of the art stadium you can have on the money available!

as DK said B&HAFC deserve a "catherdral of sport" so for me it has to a stadium of architectural excellence.

I want people to gasp at its magnificence every time they see it when walking up Falmer way!

The MadStad does alright because (a) the corners are filled in, whereas Huddersfield and Stoke create wind tunnels by having huge beams in the corners, and (b) its can be changed, expanded, etc within months if needed. Updating and changing the ground is a piece of cake.

Just don't model Falmer on that bloody fake Taj Mahal in the town centre. :p

am i right in saying falmer will look a lot like the KC, where you have one big stand, one smaller stand, and the behind-goal stands are slanted to that the roof connects?

When Falmer gets built, it will have the same irreverence, style, grace and panache which sums up the city of Brighton & Hove. You want dull? Sod off to those architectural nadirs, Leicester, Southampton, Stoke-on-Trent. You want character? Just be patient.

Personally I would prefer the stadium to have a design which looks as though it is 'mooning' the village of Falmer. Now that would be something.
