...the state-of-the-art, architecturally stunning, potential Building of the Year winning masterpiece of design that DK has always said would be a fitting tribute to the spirit of the city. But which takes 2 and a half years to build.

or

...a soulless grey concrete and steel box from the flat packed MFI Easy Assembly Kwik-E-Build Football Stadium 2004 Range, seat colour optional, as used by Middlesbrough, Leicester, Derby, Southampton, Darlington and Stoke. Ugly, but ready in a year or so.

What do you reckon? Sit back and await the Eighth Wonder of the World, a stadium to be proud of? Or "just build the f*****g thing now and get us out of Withdean, we don't care what it looks like"?

purely hypothetical, I forget how long the thing is eventually supposed to take, but I'm interested to see what people think.

Well when going past the New Den regularly on the train I keep thinking what a rusty old piece of meccano it is, so I'd like a classy Richard Rogers stylee affair please...

I didn't think of that- women, technology, you know how it is. However, if you'd like to show me your poll, I'll look and learn :p :D

Having been to a few of the 'new' stadia with the Albion, I think that the Mad Stad is the best, and the Britannia the worst

Middlesbrough's Riverside was great
Crisp Bowl - soulless
Britannia - lousy

I like the McAlpine design so that will do for me

Huddersfield's looks impressive though. Leicester, Derby etc all look the same.

I have no idea if it even makes a difference to the build time. I was just interested in seeing whether people cared about what it looked like or just wanted to get the hell out of Withdean. Entirely hypothetical.

I see I apparently managed to render Crabtree speechless in the process though. :D

Getting back to Hartys question, and putting a new twist on it.
What if the alcoholic drink Archers was to offer a lot of money to get the stadium called 'the Archers stadium'

We've waited so long, whats another year / 18 months. I'd much rather have a stadium to be proud of, than a quick fix that we're stuck with for ever, and basically looks like a glorified B&Q with the roof off.

I've been to the Crisp Bowl, and agree, its a dull, soulless stadium. New and shiney, yes. But as dull as ditchwater.
