A picnic at Preston Park similar to a teddy bear's picnic bring along a future fan instead. Very stupid I know:lolol:

Or abseiling down the tallest building in Brighton do it for charity and FFA. Maybe 50% REMF and 50% FFA I'm up for it!!

We need to find out Prescott's diary of public events and take it in turns to follow him wherever he goes with FFA banners.

I like Crabbers idea of getting a banner on one of the bridges for the boat race.

Well i'm in the London -> Brighton Bike Ride June 20th, we could do an Olympic Torch carrying thing from the Scottish Seagulls all the way down and I could carry it back to Brigthon from London...theres an idea there anyway!

why don't you and another cyclist carry the we want falmer banner down to london.

stretched across the road from one bike to another, it'll hold up people and generally get noticed

ofcourse it would be very heavy and wind resistance would reduce your pace to that of a snail's but hey...

its for falmer!

I mentioned this on another thread but will add it to this growing list of ideas anyway:

Can we not get the people involved in this decision to visit Brighton and Hove so they can see for themselves the unique problem(s) BHAFC had in finding a suitable site? It's all very well looking at pictures and studying maps. They need to see the reality of the situation which pictures and maps cannot give them.

Anybody fancy making a short video of all of the Brighton and Hove area including all of the suggested/considered sites (and their surrounding areas)? If they won't come to us let us take Falmer to them.

Crabtree- can you do the ride in a We Want Falmer t-shirt?

I think we should aim for national exposure and get the posters in the background of every TV interview, report, whatever for the next few months.

Celebrities, sportsmen, politicians, royals, news, anything, just make sure wherever there's a camera, someone is standing behind Jennie Bond, Eamonn Holmes, Peter Andre, John Leslie (not too close please) with a t-shirt or A4 poster stating We Want Falmer.

Get the larger banners displayed on buildings, landmarks, at sports events and so on. The boat race would be brilliant- the BBC might make something of it this year as it's their last year of televising it.

We're heading up the M1 to Sheffield at the weekend. Who wants to do another bridge banner campaign like someone did in Archer & Bellotti's time? The M1 is so busy it, it would be superb to see the bridges draped in banners. All you need to put is We Want Falmer, hang it from a bridge, and then ensure if anyone gets curious and searches for Falmer on the internet, they're led to the site with all the campaign details on. Maybe even set up a new site specifically for people who've seen the banners and want to know what the hell they are about?

I said this in an earlier post, but how about we come up with some kind of prize for whoever gets a poster/banner in the most innovative or publicity-gaining place? Make it a crusade, plenty of people will get involved in something like that for a laugh.

Balloons people! I checked the Guiness Book Of Records and cant find an entry for the biggest number of simultanesly (sp?) released Balloons. Basically the idea is to blow up (with helium) 61,000 Blue & White balloons signaling 1 balloon for everyones vote in the referendum thingy. Holding a mass party at Falmer or prior to a home match and releasing them with little tags on that simply say Falmer For All or something.
This kinda thing always delights kids and is something that may not make National News but would make Newsround (if thats still going?). Local media will lap it up as it does'nt happen everyday and imagine what a picture that would be...61,000 (if possible) balloons soaring into the sky to fly with the Seagulls!

I'm not a helium or balloon expert and dont know how much it might cost...but I'm gonna be big headed and say I think its a GREAT idea...and one that must get off the ground (pun intended).
If theres a big enough response to it here I shall personally start researching the pros & cons, so...what'd ya think?

Just picture it...picture the face on your little ones...

Nice idea subject to cost and environmental friendliness! Don't want people to think we're potentially choking the badgers or whetever.

Could attach tags to the balloons with postcards for Prescott on, urging the finder to send it in? Or directing them to the FFA website.

The only person who could generate true national attention is Fatboy Slim.

How he should do it, I don't know.

should we contact him? approach him at a home game?

True Edna although my main concern was local Air traffic from light aircraft or even the jets at Gatwick, not sure if you'd need a permit for it but would be something I'd look into if we go with it.

That is spooky because I've been thinking of suggesting a mass hot air balloon event.

I don't know how much it costs to ride in a hot air balloon but if we could get 10 or so to lift off together with Falmer banners strung between them?

Shoreham Airport do this:

Cant find out how much it costs but to have this fly over Fatboys beach gig or something could be cool with a FFA banner behind

I like the idea of a competition. Club could donate one of those "free but worth their weight in gold" prizes like a trip to an away game on the team bus.

Who can get "We Want Falmer" across in the most innovative and newsworthy way?

I was thinking about this last night and thought that a FFA banner on the following would be cool:

shoreham.jpg
(Shoreham Power Station)

Theres steps that go all the way up so with permission from the required party I dont thinkit would be too hard to at least get half way up with a banner, then someone on Brighton Road taking a few pics.

We'll all have to keep an eye on things then, as posters have to be seen to be considered for the prize.

God, we'll be like a the Eddie Stobart Spotters club!

Anyone off to Gelsenkirchen for the Champions League final? Sports events are good, but to reach the national consciousness we need to target non-sports events as well.

I think we should go for Jordan, she's in the press so much we can't fail to get a Falmer poster in one of the daily rags.

Who/what else is in the news at the moment, assassinated Arab figureheads not included?

True, all you need to do is stand behind and get in the press shots. I doubt we'd get any stars to actually pose with the banners!

That Passion of The Christ movie looks like being v high profile, anyone fancy going up to the Premiere to get in shot behind Mel Gibson?

Theme the banners accordingly perhaps.

"For Christ's Sake Prescott, Give Us Our Stadium"

:lolol:
