The 'Falmer For Ale' pub crawl to celebrate our final victory after extra time (far, far too much extra time!) takes place this Saturday after the Yeovil game. A bus will leave the Evening Star (Surrey Street, Brighton for anyone who doesn't know) at circa 7.30pm, and nearly all the Falmer For All campaign team will be on it. We'll be arriving at the Stanley Arms (Wolseley Rd, Portslade) around 8, the Romans (Manor Hall Rd, Southwick) around 9 and the Duke of Wellington (Brighton Rd, Shoreham) around 10. The Welly will be open till 1 am.......

The Dark Star Brewing Company have brewed a special celebratory beer, 'Falmer For Ale' at 4.1% (about right, methinks..'twill be a long night!) and are doing special discount tickets which means you can buy 4 pints for £5. In order to avoid the beer running out before the pub crawl has finished (!!!!) these tickets will only be available from Roy 'Not So Slim' Chuter on the bus or in the pubs - which means you'll be able to get them from him in the Star before the bus leaves, in the Stanley from 8pm ish, and so on. You won't need to be on the bus to get the tickets, but if you're coming to one of the pubs to celebrate with us you'll need to wait till the bus comes to buy your beer tickets from Roy.

If you want to do the whole pub crawl with us there are about 40 places available and you can get a bus ticket for a fiver from the Welly or the Star, available now at the Welly and by tonight at the Star. It's a one way journey only. Last train from Shoreham back to Brighton goes at 12.09....

It's been a massive battle, and I think everyone involved deserves a beer. Or ten. If you feel like joining us you're very welcome!

A

Something to sing on Saturday on the bus!

Tom Hark (We've Got Falmer!) The Remix.......

WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE”VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!

Bellotti, Stanley, Archer and the moneymen
Tried to kill our club – then Lewes tried again
We knew we’d save the Albion and we were right
We’re heading off to Falmer and the future’s bright!

Chorus
The Brighton sing
We all know why
The Seagulls laugh
The NIMBYs cry
Our Falmer dream
Will soon be nigh
And to Withdean
We’ll say goodbye!

The locals down at Falmer are bizarrely fond
Of their motorway and rat-infested pond
But pretty soon the landscape will be changing fast
Outstanding Natural Beauty will be there at last!

CHORUS

WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE”VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!
WE’VE GOT FALMER!

I’d love to do this. If anyone’s got any floor space going spare for the Satdi night I’ll gladly buy you the four beers for a fiver in return, I’m kinda homeless at the moment and was gambling on staying with mates in Hastings on Satdi so it’s gonna be kind of difficult to get to this if I don’t find somewhere :)

IMPORTANT!

The landlord of the Stanley Arms has pulled out of the whole thing.
The bus will now be leaving the Evening Star at 8.30pm, going directly to the Romans in Southwick, where, as I mentioned earlier, Chris is putting an a special celebration. All other details remain the same. Yorkie, and anyone else planning to meet us at the Stanley, please come to the Star or the Romans........

Cheers A

What an evening!

After the disappointment of the Yeovil game, a quick trip to the County Ground (thanks for the lift, you know who) and an hour of wondrous celebrations. Then an easy bus journey to the Evening Star to sup the excellent Falmer for Ale brew. A wholly deserved presentation to Paul Samrah, with a passionate speech by Attila, explaining exactly why Paul deserved it. Then on to the open top bus for a tour of the city centre ... along the seafront to The Romans. More fine ale. A bizarre late night tour of the delights of Southwick (the first EVER open top bus tour of the place?). Train home. And a certain feeling that this was a day that will remain in the memory for a long time.

Thanks, Attila, for organising it.

Roz will post some pictures, I'm sure.
