I was listening to Ian Hart on the radio this morning and I'm glad he is as pessimistic as the majority of supporters are. I think the first few phone ins will show a different opinion to what is being voiced on here. It's ok for a few yahoo's to start celebrating but real fans will not pop the champagne corks until the bricks are being laid and the grass is being sown.
There is no guarantee of anything in the report yesterday and what if the planning enquiry says that none of the 7 sites are suitable or there is change of government and Prescott is no longer in power ?
Nope Falmer or even a new ground is a long, long way from reality and yesterdays decision has only made it worse.

I wouldn't say I'm any more of a 'real' fan than anyone else, but I do agree with that sentiment to a degree.

I think it would be foolish to act like we've won just like I think it was foolish of the nimby's to be celebrating yesterday. I'm more optimistic today but I still won't be happy until we are playing football there.

I have to say that it is easy to slag Ernest off due to his previous posts but there is alot of truth in what he says.

You can put positive or negative spin on the ODPM announcement but there are absolutely NO cast iron guarantees in any of the wording, it all seems desperately open to interpretation.

I agree that untill a final and resolute YES is heard then im not celebrating jack.

Don't get me wrong, I do agree with what he's trying to say, it's just that one bit worded wrong and in typical Ernest style he's jump straight on the gun on the first person who was smart about it. i.e. Lord B.:)

I am not confident I do not like to think this way but I cannot help it, he knows that if he refused us yesterday the demo from us at the Brighton centre in September would have been a full blown riot and I mean big time.

That's right, Prescott is running scared of a few football fans. He's quaking in his boots, he is.

It's more than that and you know it.

Yes, the pro-stadium alliance is very broad. Let's keep it that way, yeah? Instead of pathetic self-destructive talk of one part of that alliance (fans) attacking another part of it (Caplin/Lepper/Turner).

I also think Ernest has an actual point!

We are by no means out of the water yet. I'm still to be convinced that we are allowed to build at Falmer if there is nowhere else. I don't think it actually states that fact clearly in any report. Someone correct me if i'm wrong please.

As i said in earlier threads opinions change over time .. so what was deemed unsuitable before may not be at a laterdate ...Thats my biggest worry ..

As an impartial observer I too doubted the argument that re-opening the inquiry was a positive piece of news.

So I invited some planning dudes on posh.net to voice their opinions - and they agreed, it's looking good for Falmer (provided there are no better alternatives).

It then turned out that the bloke who'd posted the answer, poshbandit, was working alongside a bloke called Phil the Seagull - so I think the answer may be tainted :lolol:
