I am somewhat concerned that Fab is taking inspiration from a Gareth Southgate lecture for this game according to an Argus article :lolol:
To be fair he was quoting Southgate's comments on failure. Go to the experts...

I am somehwat concerned you read the Arsegas

I'm tempted to whack a fiver on Vardy leaving Dunk for dead and scoring.

The whole "oh no we only have 1 reliable CB so we should play with 3 CBs instead of 2" means bringing in Cashin and playing someone out of position, or playing two players rather than one out of position.

Not buying it. Imho if we are training a new formation, it is one with two strikers. Maybe a flat 4-4-2.

3 centre backs against a team that hasn’t scored in nearly 800 minutes?

You’d think Cashin would start but his cameo V Villa was alarming. Too small, too slow and that won’t change. That had nothing to do with being eased in.
It wasn't brilliant was it? But a cameo is all that it was, you can't rate a player just on that one short performance.

fair comment, I have a £6 subscription for a few months purely for Albion news

I will be quite shocked if Vardy DOESN’T score

That’s fair enough but what was alarming was how slow he was to turn and then sprint and how small he looks for the PL. There’s not much a coach can do with that and doesn’t change whether he starts or comes on for 5 minutes.

I think the key will be to go a goal up early, then score more without conceding. But the aim in this one should be to outscore them by the final whistle, for the best chance at three points. I hope Fab has been drilling this into the players all week

Also at Derby he twice won their young player of the year award, was named in the EFL team of the year, and in 23/24 the fans in the supporters club at least voted him their player of the year. FWIW - Also a couple of times he was voted the fans player of the month in the EFL.
Bit harsh to suggest overall Derby fans weren't impressed by him but i'm sure it wasn't universal.
