4 more years of hurt then

:nono:

Can't believe they couldn't find anyone who'd actually won anything on the World or European stage with the massive salary on offer.

Sack the whole selection board

"His silverware during five years as team boss at the Riverside Stadium, however, has been limited to the Carling Cup two seasons ago, although he has led Boro to the Uefa Cup final this year."

Not inspired but he can hardly be worse than the current clown.

well whoever they appointed it wouldnt please everyone. i beleive that they know more about football than all of you guys put together so they are alot more qualified to appoint the manager than any of you.

Oh yes he can:nono:

I was going to say...there was a time not that long ago when England qualifying for world cups was a bonus rather than something to be taken for granted.

Well he appears to have a plan B when his team is losing, that has to be a big plus

Alf Ramsey's entire trophy cabinet as a domestic manager was one Division Two title, and one Division One title, and never managed a team which successfully played to qualify for a World Cup Finals tournament.

Ron Greenwood's was one FA Cup, and one Cup Winners' Cup - 12 years before his appointment.

Bobby Robson's was one FA Cup, and one UEFA Cup.

People here wanted an Englishman, they've got an Englishman. There's no pleasing some people.

The worst thing about the whole situation is the fact that Maclaren probably is the best English person for the job. That is pathetic.

Don't care if he's English or not. Just want a winner.

Really ??? ?

I thought the FA was more of an ' old boys club ', than anything else.

I'd like to see Sir Alan Sugar in charge, Erriksson...... you're fired .

brighton, actually
so, Steve Mc was the FA's unaminous choice??

why all the fuss about going to Scolari, and 'dotting the i's and cossing the t's on his expected contract signing?

watching the press conference today, it seems the FA are trying to gloss over the fact the Mc was really 2nd choice..?
