Whilst posting on NSC I have been listening to the Politics show (Prescott is on it talking about regional assemblies)

There was an item about the FA halving prize money for winning the first stages of the FA cup.

As a lot of non-league clubs need every penny they can get, how can the FA justify this?

IE Gainsborough have won the 4th round qualifier to be able to play against Brentford in the 1st round proper.

Prize money 2002 £20,000
Prize money 2003 £10,000

1st round proper 2002 £20,000
1st round proper 2003 £12.500 (that includes us)

BUT the prize money for winning the cup has gone up to 2 million

Surely the prize money should benefit the grass roots clubs more than the already rich Premiership clubs (who are far more likely to get to the final)

I totally agree, I think it's disgusting how the FA treat clubs outside the Premiershit, it reminds me of Thatcher and her cronies. The rich get richer whilst the poor get poorer. Absolute disgrace

Just as an aside has anyone noticed the boss of the Post Office (who are now having wildcat strikes) is one Adam Crozier?

From football to mail - has he hit the post?

I didn't. One handed typing is quite difficult!!:lolol:

Sorry YORKIE ;)

I know

Put you and Jonnyboylennon together and you may have a good pair between you, actually no, you won't as it's the left hand in both cases.

Anyway back on topic.

The FA don't have to answer to anybody so they can do whatever they like.
