was just reading about man utd complaining (nothing new) about the allocation they have been given for the tie against city, 5,500.
under FA rules it states that the home team has to offer the equivalent to 15% of the ground capacity, that would make 3350 so if we drew a team that bring a large following how would we accommodate them all or would we do what city have done and not follow the rules.

They get the first (South) block of the East Stand.

I read today that United get a special dispensation from this ruling as they have the biggest ground in the country. Cnuts.

As I understand it it's just 15% up to 3,000, or somesuch.

I believe the league rules are 10% or 3000

The fa cup is 15%

The east stand concourse has been built with a shutter so the end by the south can be segregated for cup ties

The FA Cup increases round by round. I know when we got to the final in '03, Wolves had pretty much the whole of the Northam.

I'm confused, CoM stadium capacity, 47805. 15% = 7170. so it's fair enough really for them to complain.

From the FA Rules:

All Rounds Preceding the Semi-Finals

In all matches preceding the Semi-Finals, the Visiting Club shall have the right to claim up to 15% of all accommodation for which tickets are issued providing these tickets are in a fully segregated area, and subject to the following regulations:

i.The request for tickets shall be made within two days of the draw.

Er, no it doesn't. What a crock of shit. The rules are the same for every round (except those ties held on neutral grounds).

I imagine you just gave Wolves extra as you couldn't be arsed with it. Much like your team in the final, if I recall correctly.

Fa rules are 15% of capacity for the visitors for FA cup ties.

..excluding Man U:

United are not bound to give visiting clubs the usual 15% allocation because they are given special dispensation from the FA on the basis that Old Trafford is the largest ground in the country. Instead, they routinely give away fans 8,500 tickets for cup ties,

So, United have a special dispensation to only offer 11% of their ground for FA Cup games, City don't. Are we seeing City turning into the new United then, refusing to follow the rules of the FA when it suits them? The FA is gutless, spinelss and powerless if it can't enforce this simple and long standing rule. The Premier League teams are getting to the point where they are running, and ruining, the beautiful game in this country, what is the point of the FA anymore?

So Arsenal are obliged to offer 9,054 tickets, but Manchester United can offer fewer?

Sake.

So if another team has a new stadium with a capacity of more than Man u, will they be allowed to offer less than 15% as they will be the biggest. And therefore man u will have to offer 15%? Or do you think the FA will crumble again, and let the two big teams do what they want.

Manchester United refer City to the FA in dispute over Cup tickets | Football | The Guardian

I think it's a tit-for-tat measure.

But, I also understand the 15% is easily circumvented on the grounds of safety. Most clubs have an all-too cosey relationship with the board which decides these things. In fact didnt we under-supply FC United of Manchester on some bizarre safety reason? I seem to recall the reasoning we gave seemed to contradict other higher profile and category games.
