watching millionaire spoilt brats play football, with their plastic fans sitting in their seats- who don't know the meaning of true support. last years fa cup was a breath of fresh hair that won't happen for years to come. bring in the draughting system they have in NFL and AFL, then we'll have a fair game. UP THE ALBION!

Would you say all premiership clubs fans are plastic? Because I beg to differ.

my feelings about the FA cup this year are at an all time low, I think it has something to do with the TV coverage

Same with me this competition has now become very boring and futile.

There was a time when I was a kid and I used to love this, Grand Stand FA Cup Final started around 09:00 on that Saturday in May with a fantastic build up till the main event at 15:00 hrs. Interviews with the players before the game at the hotel having breakfast etc - Champions League killed the FA Cup.

I'd love Everton to win it. Great manager that gets a team not filled with superstars to play consistantly well despite injuries etc. Just a shame that Man U will dick all over them in the semi final.

so according to your logic, not one of those chelsea or dare i say it man utd fans has followed their team through thick and thin, all the years spent in the old second division, demoralising trips back from shitholes like preston ? yes they have more than their share of plastic fans but both clubs ( and i detest even the "REAL"man utd fans)have lots of real fans , so dry your eyes princess and admit that if someone like abramovich came along and offered the money to the albion you would rip his f***ing arm off

Chelski do have hard core fans - about 9,000 or so judging by the numbers that turned out when Spurs played there in the early 90's.

As for Siberian gangsters, no I do not want Roman or his ilk anywhere near the Albion regardless of how much cash they have. We support our club because it's our club not because some foreign crook wants to launder his ill gotten gains and buy us some trophies along the way.

9000 when spurs played their in the early 90s? complete and utter unadulterated bollocks, the early 90s spurs games were when there was a proper atmosphere at stamford bridge , the one thing that was usually lacking was spurs fans , and you obviously dont grasp the reasoning of my post, i do think that to a certain extent the heart has been taken out of he club, and ive always supported chelsea , abramovich or not , hence the inclusion of the "demoralising trips home from shitholes like preston" part of my post, but i absolutely 100% dont believe you when you say that you would turn down abramovich's money, because judging by the state of brighton at the moment , you would be an absolute **** to.

The crowd at the Bridge on 10 February 1990 was 28,130 of which 10,000 were Spurs fans in the old uncovered away end (there should have ben a 1 before the 9000). I was there.

As for Abramovich, I believe you about your support for Chelski but to be blunt I don't think you understand the Albion.

fair enough about the number , your probably right about 19000, you can also add onsome more who like me go to 7/8 games a season now, i also understand what you are saying about the albion, its a difficult choice, because while its great winning titles and europe etc,its nowhere near as much "fun" now stupid though that may sound.

Not stupid at all - I think you've hit the nail on the head.

liverpool-west ham is the best that i can remember

infact it might actually be the ONLY good one that i can remember
i am old enough to remember the arsenal man u final in 1978 , it was truly exciting at the end, arsenal 2-0 up with about 10 mins to go , manu end up equalising and alan sunderland gets put throgh on goal and scores an arsenal win 3-2 , THAT is the romance ofthe cup which is so sadly lacking now, and i agree with an earlier poster , that money ie the premier league and champions league have ruined it.

So let's get this right; the Champions League Final is on Weds 27th May and could well be Chelsea/Arsenal vs Man Utd then, just 3 days later is the FA Cup Final Chelsea / Arsenal vs Man Utd.

I can't wait for the spectacle of seeing 22 knackered players diving and cheating their way through 120 minutes of tedium to the inevitable penalty shoot-out.

Please God let Hull or Everton reach the final for SOME sort of interest.

fair point bushy but neither manure or chelski fans have suffered n e thing in recent years, the old skool u talk about sure they suffered, but this generation don't know the meaning of the word relegation. but u cant deny that the capitalist system in the prem is unfair. i would rather have the socialist draughting system where everyone has a fair crack of the wip and a realisitic chance of winning the title than a oil tycoon, having a few teams run the whole thing is no fun for those who dont support those teams, it just makes u feel sick

Funny, I remember in even more romantic FA Cup story in 1978. Ipswich Town beat Arsenal 1-0 with a scoreline that flattered Arsenal.

I know what you mean, however about the 1979 FA Cup Final, although it doesn't change the fact that the first 86 minutes of that game were 'Chelsea/Man U' boringly dire.

I think you've got your FA Cup final cliches mixed up. Arsenal v Man Utd in 1979 was the DRAMA of the Cup. Wimbledon '88 was the ROMANCE of the Cup (if neandarthal clogging is your idea of romance).
