The Club must be extremely confident of gaining formal approval what with Martin Perry telling Albion Roar a few weeks back that the steel and other materials have already been ordered and Buckingham are the contractors. I seem to recall MP saying the target is 5k extra seats in this next phase giving us an interim capacity of 27.5k, and the remainder in the summer of 2013.

Hopefully Fat Boy Slim's lasers and pyrotechnics won't distract the builders too much as they will have their work cut out to get the additions certified ready for August.

Apparently the decision will be delayed whilst the council and football authorities assess the situation with people standing in the North Stand, with potential problems should it be proved that there is persistent standing.

In order to meet the 30 April target decision date, the application will have to be considered by the Council's Planning Committee sometime this month. Their next meeting is on Wednesday (The Amex is not on the agenda), the following meeting is on Wednesday 25 April.

Thanks for your encouraging comments. On a positive note, let's hope they will have a special agenda that we don't know about.

Sorry for being dim, but is the first (interim) 5,000 going to be extra tier or corners?

Corner in the South west I would have thought...In any event...How exciting is the fact that we could have 27,500 capacity. When was the last time that happened? It does make you wonder where the club will be in 5 years time doesn't it?

What's the point of expanding to 30,000 when the club is going to just wander round the championship & bottom of the premier league...I do have this sneaking suspicion that we are on the verge of some massive news regarding our finances...I've not heard anything, but I just get this feeling that we are not going to put an extra 8-10k in seats in just to be a lower half prem/top half championship team.

I think it's the South East/South West corners and East second tier

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the target decision date means that when a case needs to go to committee, it has to have it's report and recommendation ready to go on a committee agenda by the target date, however the planning committee itself can be after - that is the planning committee is outside the target period set by the secretary of state. As long as the application is written up and ready to go on the new agenda by the 30 April, the council will have fulfilled it's timescale duties.

You couldn't for example have an 8 week application that needed to go to committee, but the next available committee date would mean the planning officer effectively only has 5 weeks from the start date to write the thing up and take in all the consultation responses etc.

Maybe we should ask;
Wolves 28,525
Bolton 28,723
Birmingham 30,079
Ipswich 30,311
Forest 30,602
Blackburn 31,367
Leicester 32,500
Southampton 32,689
Sheffield Utd 32,702
Derby 33,597
M'boro 34,988
West Ham 35,303
Leeds 39,460

In order to meet their quota the LPA have to decide the planning application before the 16 week date (EIA) which is the 30 April. It's not on this weeks agenda so the next committee is the 25 April, the agenda for this committee should be published two weeks beforehand.

Given that the East Stand is the respect stand and the North is a little more rowdy will the North East corner be rowdy respect?

We're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen....... although your team does have some redeeming features that should be taken into account when making that comment.

We forgot that you were here, but now we are aware we will be sure to pay attention to any songs you sing.

Der der der der f*****g great attempt, but we are not sure that was what you were trying to achieve.

They meet their quota ensuring the majority of their smaller applications meet their date. There are many applications live even now that are well into 6 months or beyond! If they are missing a consultation response, or need more time to complete their report, they can move that date with no penalty.
