That NY thread got me thinking about this. Shouldn't there be an expat forum? Or a forum for people outside SE England? Somewhere where meet-ups can be organised for Albion fans NOT close to Brighton.

This would rely on those living outside of Brighton to all live near each other which is unlikely.

It's just that the NY thread will go off the front page meaning that organising a MEAT UP is probably harder to sort out and is less likely to be well attended.

Also, half of those NY posters rarely post on here normally, so it it might encourage them to post on the main board. God knows the board could do with freshening up with new contributors from time to time.

Good idea Simster – should be a few of us at Foleys tomorrow night, could be the start of something.

Also sounds like there are other Seagulls fans in NYC who are not even registered with NSC never mind posting.

All of us fans based in NYC want to raise the Seagulls profile, too many folks walking around in Chelski and Manure shirts - after all a cool city should be aware of the coolest club in the UK. All you can do is wear the shirt around town and tell the locals about the mighty Seagulls when they ask about it – and a lot do. One of the Virgin megastores did used to display the shirt because of the Fat Boy Slim connection but that was a while ago.

Yep i think its a nice idea Sim. Not only would it help the expats organise get-togethers, but also people who are just visiting an area and want to meet some other Seagulls. I had a bit of a mare trying to see an Albion game on tv while in Dublin a few years back (got there in the end though, thanks to MYOB).

I am trying to organise a return visit to Brighton to coincide with first game at Falmer, was going to suggest a meet if any other ex pats were going to do the same thing but that seems to be up in the air a bit now:rolleyes:

Go on then let's have a meet. Saturday afternoon at the Irish pub in Bartram Walk. If you're heading south on SR 13 do a left about half a mile after the Julington Creek bridge. I'll be wearing an Albion shirt and watching the Gators game. Who's in?

Its 1715 here going to the pub now....Rogues in Bugos if anyone can make it...

Short notice I know, but please try.

I'm just getting my coat now. I'll be there in 20 or 30 ...

...days, depending on whether or not the taxi driver detours to avoid the roadworks on the Moscow ring.

We'll probably all be able to teleport to the game assuming technical advances in the intevening eons...

Suspect any meet up here may be a bit lonely!! However, anyone wandering in to my book shop suitably attired will automatically qualify for huge discounts!!

Planning to get over to SA for the Lions 2009 rugby next June.

I'll definitely give you a shout nearer the time.

Any of the expat Albion fans planning on coming to Dubai will also get a very warm welcome.
