'Basically...'

I hate this one. Its usually used when someone is explaining something to me. Don't say 'basically', the implication there is that I'm too dim for the 'complicated' explanation.

I'm going to have to swap to "Effectively..... " from now on then.:thumbsup:

No, they are saying sorry before they actually do anything, but presumptive isn't it? They should say excuse me, then say thank you when you oblige. Sorry is what you should say when an inconvenience has been caused.

Sorry but :facepalm: having a go at people for being polite?
