The bad news is that all the shit channels will still be showing the repeats for another 30 years at peaktime.

There were only so many ways that falling down a hill every week was going to be amusing.

I had no idea it was still running. Do they still have the "hilarious" affair between Howard and that brazen hussy Marina?

Surely all its regular viewers have died by now, not to mention three quarters of the original cast.

I once managed half an episode, just like I did with The Darling Buds of May. If ever you wanted a Sunday evening ruined Last of the Summer Wine would seem to have been the ticket.

To be fair, most Sunday evening TV appears to be aimed at the over 60s- see also the Antiques Roadshow and Songs of Praise.

I used to hate it - when I was a kid, shite Sunday evening programmes like this reminded me that it was school the next day. Boooo!

Errr, LOTSW was a genteel programme aimed predominantly at the older generation. I'm sure many people of pensionable age think Peep Show or The Inbetweeners is shite, although admittedly those progs haven't gone on for 30 years.

It's a shame but all good things have to come to an end. Hopefully the BBC will plough the money it saves from dropping LOTSW back into it's other great comedy like My Family.
