1- john lennon.

yes i bloody love him, but i think of it like this. if mccartney had died instead he would be seen as a great musician(more so than he is) and if lennon was still alive would he be seen as mccartney is now?

2- JFK. again only famous cos he got killed innit.

3-martin luther king perhaps?

4-kurt cobain?

i expect some argument on all of these but i think the biscuit was taken when lennon made it into the top ten greatest britons of all time. i mean, HOW?

Diana.

I noticed one of the Diana-fanatic newspapers was bristling with indignation yesterday as there is apparently a patch of green algae growing in the Diana memorial fountain thing. They seem to be suggesting that this is somehow an insult to her memory.

Drunk students regularly stick traffic cones on the statue of Queen Victoria in the Old Steine, but I can't recall a whole page in the Express about it.

JFK was already looked up to for standing up to the Russians over the Cuban missile crisis and Martin Luther King for the civil rights movement.
They would have been thought of in a similar way to Nelson Mandela now.

He was considered a hero for calling the Russian's bluff. They had to withdraw their nuclear missiles from Cuba.
