you cant lower a players wages if you get relegated can you? (i.e you have to offer a new contract that they are entitled to refuse)

I'm sure this is covered by a clause in their contract. The players out of contract and who will be offered new contracts will be offered 'League One' terms, whether or not they accept is up to them.
