At some point, another football club naming no names, will try to buy him for a obscene amount of money, and whatever they pay they'll get a bargain.
Ferguson once back to full match fitness will absolutely thrive in the current set up,scoring plenty with his noodle and scraps in the box.
He's class, strong, and extremely talented and barely skimmed the surface of his chosen career, imo obviously.

The same (extremely well placed) person that told me that Evan really didn’t enjoy playing under RDZ last season (who “sucked the life out of him’) told me that “He will be great this season, revitalised under a new manager”. I hope he’s right, so let’s give him some time.

I see he came on. How did he look? Anyone watch?
I watched.

He was as bad as he was in the first game, perhaps worse. He seemed to lose the ball each time he got it which was rare because his movement was poor. Lost every 50/50 easily.

He looked like a player right at the beginning of his pre-season up against others who have been going fulll beans in training for a couple of months.

He is coming from a long way back, he needs to regain match fitness and form. He shouldn’t even be getting on the bench for our EPL games at the moment after those two outings. However, I’m confident given a proper pre-season style programme he’ll be fine.

He made Connolly look like Messi.

Watching those two cameos I question why he was allowed to join up with ROI, he is clearly not ready, would have been much better off at Lancing. He looks ‘heavy’.
Regardless what the club might have thought or felt, Ireland are allowed to call him up, thats how it works.

Didn't see their game yesterday but anyone judging the first sub appearance (8 minutes, 2 touches on the ball) need to look in the mirror and ask themselves if they are reasonable people.

Don’t go all “Aaron Connolly” on us

Best thing we can do with Evan, is build him back up in the u23's for a few games.

It's stupid for a young player to be doing their return to match fitness at international level, mostly because of the public glare that comes with it.

Let's get the lad some decent minutes in his legs away from big stadia and public pressure, then ease him back into the squad

Not disagreeing but this doesn’t seem to happen any more. Can’t remember the last player who went back to the U21/23s to get fit.

From memory Caciedo,1 game, Lamptey,2 games, I've a feeling Encisco had a game or two as well, not forgetting Gary Dicker who seemed to never quite be fit enough so basically stayed 21 for 4 years 😁

Isn't there a point though that if Evan is in that age group. He got promoted very very young. If he does play under u23 football, he likely won't be the youngest player playing.

I just think that when you use international football to get players minutes, and this is the fault of the ROI set up, you open the door for idiots, going on about him not being good enough, (see earlier in this thread).

Better for him to get his fitness up, just for a couple of games away from the spotlight
