He's just been at West Ham, trust me he's ready for the likes Aberdeen! West Ham fans are brutal from the off, Millwall are the same they love you or hate you, and they make their minds up quick.
He's hardly got on the pitch at West Ham.. It's not gone well. So?
Nothing like Hearts and the tribalism in the SPL. If you don't know, you don't know. Just trust somebody who does.

Absolute bullshit the SPL is more pressured than the EPL or Champ. That’s just insane.

He'll come good. I recall a young Harry Kane warming the Leicester City bench during the Championship season, 2012-13.

Will probably do him good to drop down to the Championship to hopefully bang in a few goals and get his confidence back. Coventry, Ipswich or Southampton, maybe.

Though as previously stated on this thread, give him the pre-season with Hurzeler and if things go well, there will be no need to send him out on loan. Squad space/numbers permitting.

A loan to post-Vardy Leicester if that knobhead RVN leaves would be a good shout.

I’m amazed anyone plays in that league the way you’re going on about it.

No. You're obviously not aware of the pressures in MTL football. Far more if he's playing for Hearts than in the EFL. The football may be beneath contempt for sophisticated PL followers, but the pressure locally - both Hearts v. Hibs, and Hibs and Hearts v. the Old Firm? Pressure-wise on a different scale. It's way more tribal, and far more brutal for anyone struggling.

. Irish fans on X are ranting that he's too slow and not the same player.
Evan seems to have forgotten that you have to work hard on a football pitch. If he doesn’t work it out soon then he’ll be playing third tier football in a few years. Just a bizarre shift in attitude and effort to the kid that broke into the first team.

Probably should have flogged him to Chelsea for £70m or whatever it was last summer like the rumours said…

He's still got it. Here is a rare flash of his old self from last season.

But he needs to rediscover consistency, fitness, form and confidence. Hopefully he can make an impression on the squad this summer.

From that, fitness/condition seems to be the issue still - subbed after scoring a great goal.

He was really poor last night. It looks like he's fallen off a cliff over the past year or so. Gutted.

If you're going to keep him on the books, a loan move abroad would probably be best for him. He needs a full season of regular starts.
USG? He'd get Champions League football and should be able to score plenty if he can recover his form and confidence.

Thanks for the news, even though it's less than ideal.

I guess he'll still get a chance in pre season to show that he's a better option right now than at least one of the Greek kids ... otherwise probably yes, we'll loan him out and I agree a foreign loan might work best.

It's a puzzling situation with Evan, but i've seen enough of him to have the opinion that persevering with him through his current issues is likely to bear fruit in the long run.

That would be an interesting move. If he can't cut it in Belgium, we'll know for sure that something isn't right.

He was okay when he came on against Senegal, but absolutely miles off it last night.

How do you know it is altitude that is stopping him working hard on the pitch? That seems extremely unlikely to me.

Indeed. Some sort of injury (as we saw) coupled perhaps with a loss of confidence/mojo.
Attitude has never been mentioned.

I am not understanding how a loss of confidence/mojo stops you actually looking motivated and getting stuck in

Effort is the minimum I’d expect from any player playing for his club or country regardless.

It doesn’t (or at least probably not in Evan’s case) but a lack of peak fitness and conditioning can.
