A shame. It was so much more interesting than generic ballads like Katrina and the Waves’s offering. It’s the only time I can think of the UK trying to do something different, rather than smothering to appease the neighbours.
What about our very dodgy (c)rap effort from 2006? That was certainly different.

Rather think that was a low point that one. Love City Groove didn't hit the mark so it went even more abstract in another attempt later.
Every year I used to hear good popy Eurovision style songs in the charts and thought how good they could have been.
I used to think that Steps would have been perfect. But I'm not sure what the auto-tune rules were
I remember once having a chat with Kit Rolfe. Shame she didn't have two other actual singers with her for her Supremes impression.

In my opinion, that was too knowingly kitsch even for Eurovision. Like something out of musical theatre. Love City Groove actually tried to have some edge.

I have to say, I really enjoyed that show. I've been feeling down lately for various reasons, and it was nice to have a show (and an evening) of uplifting, feel good stuff.
