One of my pet peeves in music is the song that can’t make up its mind what tune it is and becomes two or three in one. Bohemian Rhapsody is the most notable example of this. Makes me reach for the “off” button every single time (I appreciate I’m in a minority here).
Eurovision acts are often sketchy on this point but this year it’s gone wild. Seemingly every song is a witches brew of god knows what, with several ideas chucked at the wall and none of them sticking, the U.K. entry being a prime example. Found I was giving credit to the acts that picked a motif and stuck with it, regardless of the wider merits of the song (thanks, Lithuania). It’s just three minutes. I don’t need West Side Bloody Story in that time.
And there’s always an exception. Here’s how it should be done. A song in three acts that brings me out in goosebumps. Pulp with Scott Walker twiddling the knobs in production? Yes please!

Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa has been replaced as the Eurovision 2025 spokesperson due to "unforeseen circumstances".
But every cloud and all that, the 32-year-old actor was due to read out the UK jury votes at the grand final on Saturday but has now been replaced by singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

So the UK entry.....
They can clearly sing well
The song itself is almost Disney like in its musical theatre lilt
They've done the tour of Europe and social media stuff like Sam Ryder did
I'm just not sure given its stop start (frankenstein's monster different parts) how it will fare in the votes

The only decent song we have had for ages was Sam Ryder who would have walked it in any other year.
I am expecting slightly more than nul point this year but certainly ending up bottom 5
Anyway Georgia are out and I’m still sulking. I think Frutos hates me
Never even heard the song though, I didn’t bother given it had a 0.2% chance of winning.I still can’t get my head around Australia being allowed an entry either

I also noticed that it's a bumper year for costume changes / costume unveiling half way through. They all seem to be at it this year.
It'll score decently with the jury/judges - but can't see it doing very well with the public. Just not catchy enough.
Milkshake Man . . . . should have got that famous old country singer from Brisbane to do it.
