Which is technically a red card - ask Flitney when in goal for Barnet against Manure.

Blayney was very lucky.

The Flitney decision was a crap one. It should only be a red card if the offence prevents a clear goalscoring oppurtunity ... which I'm sure is what the rules say. Should have been a yellow though.

Hart shouldn't have been booked for the first foul but the handball was silly and he deserved to be booked for that

Fair enough, but at the end of the day, if anyone deserved to win, it was them i feel.

We don't possess enough quality, and did very well to get anywhere near the points again:clap:

I wont really argue with that, tempereed with if Fructos's effort had gone underneath the bar, we would have been 2 up and that would have been a different story.

But lets be honest, every player on palace's side apart from 1 played in the premiershite last year.

But then again we did beat them at selhurst so you would have expected us to wim at home

That is why flitney had the decision recinded
because it wasn't a red card

i thought the teams were equal until the last 20 minutes, when dowie made his changes and you raped us. carole at right back - possibly the most bizare decision i have seen - especially when you have someone of dodds quality sitting on the bench

Didn't no which thread to put this in, so i'll do a new one.

Firstly - Well done Albion. They tried very hard today, gave 100%, and just fell short. The two wingers, Frutos and Carole were fantastic, and Leon took his goals well..ish!

Secondly - well done Palace. Showed they were the better team today, used the ball better than us, and hardly suprising they won.

Thirdly - The referee. Utter toss, and did seem to give everything in favour of palace...but (havent seen it on tv) i thought Robinson dived, and Blayney should have been sent off. However, what OGH was sent off for i do not know. A complete Farce.

Atmosphere - Shit for a derby, even the scum were quiet.

Game turned in my opinion when CKR came on, and Jakey came off. Personally, i think McGhee needs to take some responsibilty for that.

Think that is all - also a nice bit in the prog about NSC and Falmer.

Unlucky lads

Well, there's no point lying about it. You lot seemed to take your defeat quite well (most of them), so there is little point throwing toys out of the pram.....

The linesman gave the penalty - he flagged like a maniac for about five seconds before the ref gave it. Interestingly, none of the Palace players went over to Robinson to have a go at him, though - even though they spent most of the game surrounding the ref.

Blayney should NOT have been sent off, because he did not commit a red card offence. Simple, really. Not only have refs (re: Ross Flitney) not caught up with the new rule, it seems some fans haven't either.

Now I must be missing something here. Granted, Harty's second yellow card was a no-brainer, but the first yellow card, I could have sworn that their player battered into Harty first, and the free-kick should have been ours. So I was UTTERLY pissed off when I saw him being booked. That at least was my first reaction, and I haven't seen it on telly since. Does telly confirm that Hart commited a bad foul?

Of course McGhee takes responsibility - he decides on the substitutions. In this instance, Jakey coming off was the right thing, because he was dreadful. I wanted the change to made well before it did happen. Unfortunately, CKR was dreadful as well.

I agree..however blaming Gary Hart is NOT ON, for all we know he may have broken his neck!

still got red carded though

his sending off was the main factor in them scoring, coupled with mcghee not having the bollocks to bring dodd on

The same as that for outfield players, essentially. Handball is only a red card offence if it denies a clear goalscoring oppurtunity.

Was gutted we lost today. Was so close but really thought we were gonna edge it. Ok, Gary Hart should have got the 2nd booking but it was the fact that Morrison handballed moments after and got nothing. This inconsistancy is shit and the ref was appalling with it. That's what bugs me the most.

Knight, o Carole and Fruity were all a class above today. Thought Robinson was ok too and just his energy running at people was causing them problems. Feel he should've stayed on but guess McGhee was maybe looking for the more physical presence after Jakey had run em a bit rugged.

Dowie; still looking to do a sequel to the Goonies by the looks of it.

Defense needed to be so much tighter though. I'm a Paul Reid fan but he looked out of place today, and maybe disrupted things with El Abd in there even though felt he had a good game. But just two lapses and they score two goals and thats just thw way this league is (and reflects the quality that we have by being a part of it.

We'll stay up. 3 pts at Cardiff and COME ON THE ALBION!!!!!
