English Striker

If you had the choice, what current striker who is English would you pick/buy to play for the Albion? (unlimited funds and you are not allowed to choose Rooney)
The reason I ask is that I don't think England has had an outstanding striker for many years now apart from Mr Rooney.
As an aside I am perfectly happy with our current forward line but interested to know who you rate as an English striker?

Darren Bent is and always has been a top finisher. Defoe is still good too. Apart from that, not a lot!

Sturridge and Wellbeck are both fantastic prospects. You'd have to think that Wickham will develop.

I also think Defoe is currently the best English striker around and given a injury free season would guarantee to bang in 20 plus goals over a full season

to play alongside of CMS it would have to be Peter Crouch but if instead of CMS I would agree on Sturridge or Defoe. or even possibly Scott Sinclair.

Good question.

For his record you'd probably say Bent however he is lazy and needs to play in the right side to score his goals.

For potential you'd either go for Welbeck or Sturridge. Probably side towards Welbeck at the moment.

Funny that someone mentioned Walcott as only today at work we were discussing how good his finishing is compared to how poor his final product is down the wing. I went to Arsenal before Christmas and got their fanzine and in several articles he got slated.
