There is an English player who played last season in La Liga. This isn't any sort of trick question, he is genuinely English and he made full appearances in the Spanish 1st Division.

However, I'll keep that to myself for the moment and award full marks to anyone who knows who this is without looking it up.

He's a lad who grew up in Spain and England. Plays for Elche. Can't remember his surname. Charlie something.

Why would an average/good/very good player go and earn £30,000pa abroad, when they can earn £60,000pa staying at home.
Especially when all they have to be here, is marginally better than the next hoofer in line.
