I don't understand why the Guardian article in question compared the disparity between the amount of blacks or asians playing the game and the amount being employed by the FA.
Since the vast majority of the FA employees have never played the game to any level the comparison is surely an utter irrelevance.

Could have told you that myself - I got racist abuse shouted at me by a Bristol fan.
As those here who've met me know, I'm white and I've got the Generic middle class Dublin accent thats not nessacerily identifiable as Irish. Basically, the same as many people from the UK. Still got called an "Irish ****"

Political correctness has broadened the racial divides and squashed any humour that may be available regarding pigment of skin as if it's a such big deal.
It's just a shade of skin ffs, and the rest of us is biologically basically the same.
In Los Angeles, many black kids are constantly blithering on about race as if it's the only bloody subject they can think of - and that will stunt their growth imho.
Inside, I surely am as soulful as James Brown y'all, but who will believe me when I walk around with this pink skin?
Celebrate and enjoy the differences in this World, we wouldn't like every bird in the sky to be the same plumeage, so why shouldn't that apply to mankind?
I still don't agree with quotas, as if companies and sports have to employ equal (or any) particular shade of person - let the talent come and prove itself regardless of colour, but I don't see it in football really.

On a slightly different tack the West Yorkshire Fire Service has been told that they are under-represented by blacks and females.
The percentages that they are supposed to have are higher than the percentages of those groups that actually apply for the vacancies so positive discrimination has to take place just to fulfil quotas.
