England vs West Indies @ Old Trafford - Final Day

A very interesting day in prospect with the Raggae Boyz 226 runs ahead with one solitary wicket remaining. That last wicket should be lost very early on leaving England a target on 230-240. I would imagine this is well within our limits but the West Indian bowling is looking far more dangerous of late and a couple of early wickets could shake things up a bit.

Could Freddy be the home town hero??

Doesn't look like Tresco will last long

1050: Edwards begins from the Statham End, tying Trescothick in knots with his first few deliveries. The left-hander gets off a pair with a toe-end just past a leaping gully for four.

Thorpe to bat but only in emergency.

Yeah, but that record is only 145 and we've gone passed 280 twice this summer accoring to the BBC.

Todays the day when we need Thorpe - gritty, determined etc so will anyone else step up and be counted. Personally I don't think Vaughan and Key have got the stomach for a battle but I'll be prepared to be proved wrong.

Strauss however looks to have that steel we need. Trescothick was never going to have it.

Trescothick needs a rest. He's a f***ing liability at the moment, Vaughan and Struass should be opening this order.

Chappers - Where are your seats for Friday? We are in the Surridge Stand about 6 rows back i think (cant remember exactly)

I cannot see us winning today batting on day 5 on an already worn out Old Trafford Pitch.

If they had Warne or Murali we would be all out under 100

I'm not sure, we're normally in the Peter May enclosure but i think we might be over in the Surridge Stand this year.

If anyone's got the stomach for a battle, it's surely Key.

The Pieman's looking good at the moment.
