Hardly a classic was it. Still a win's a win.

Absolutely shocking. :nono: That is the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen in an International match. 'I'm too important to go to Azerbaijan so I'll get myself booked in the most obvious way possible.'

Here's hoping Wright Phillips scores 5 and keeps his place

Well done to Becks, Thatcher was being a twat and I think Becks was right to put himself about. Thatcher should have been booked though not Beckham.

I did get bored with the game half way through right up to the point where Becks unleashed his goal.
We seemed lacking in ideas and if Wales had been more on the ball (as in ideas of attacking) then we would have been struggling. We were passing the ball backwards more than forwards.

Once Becks had got the second then we seemed to remember how to attack again and went forward in a more exciting way.

What game were you watching? I agree with the Great C. I thought Becks behaved irresponsibly; he still does get that red mist, very worrying for more important games.

Cracking goal though.

I thought that was the best England performance in quite a while. We created a lot of chances and if that was Michael Owen low on confidence I'd hate to face a fired up version. Rooney was outstanding, dribbling past Welshmen like they weren't there; and the defence looks so much better with Campbell and in particular Ferdinand who did not put a foot wrong.

Too right fully agree with you, at times we were taking the piss. We were cool calm and collected and they were well beaten and if it had not been for there goalkeeper we would have had five.
Well done the Three Lions:clap:

Agreed.

Don't agree that Beckham made that silly challenge on Thatcher just because he wanted to avoid Wednesday's game.
Came across a bit gay though, whinging that he'd been winded - would've been a lot worse if Thatcher had connected properly.

Remember this was a cobbled together Welsh defence. I thought the whole thing was a yawn, but then I think that of international football in general.

I'd much rather the Albion had been playing today.

Damn right. This must be the quietist Saturday ever on here.

I hear Beckham has a cracked rib, so he wouldn't have made the Azerbaijan game anyway. Who should be captain on Wednesday, Owen or Campbell or even Rio?

Owen took over the armband but would he start with it?
