Hopefully we do the reverse England. Rubbish in pointless games and good in meaningful ones!

Outclassed for 90 minutes.

He’s not even English.

I’m English and I don’t sing that nonsense.
Quite! a song about someone who doesn't exist saving someone in a position that shouldn't exist.

Not for me Clive.

You could argue that England friendlies are a waste of time. The players aren't interested. We're a year away from a major tournament, we have a new manager and only Kane seems to have made an effort to impress him.

If we think we can rock up and string 7 matches together and win anything then history tells us that isn't going to happen. This squad hasn't got the mentality, it's far too 'post- Abramovich Chelsea' for my liking.

One player I've really missed recently is Jarrod Bowen. He is one of those that always puts in a shift and seems to be passionate about England. And Wharton walks into this side. The defence is a big worry, too many not up to it, injury prone, over the hill or lack of big match experience.

Sussex but not by the sea
He’s got to forget his Chelsea past, and quickly.
Reece James shouldn’t be anywhere near this team/squad yet.
Madueke is BANG average and there are better options at ‘lesser’ clubs.
Colwill is not international quality IMO.
Then add in other average players from big 6 - e.g. Curtis Jones wouldn’t get in our midfield and doesn’t get into Liverpool’s with everyone fit.

well, hate to say I told you so but Tuchel has proved from the get go he hasn't a scoobie.

Love to know what he brings that no Englishman could. Foreign does just not work

Could an Englishman coach Italy or Brazil and teach the Italian or Brazilian way? of course not. Having a modicum of succes at club level doesn;t mean you can be an internatiomal coach. Rubbishiest appointment ever

We used to produce excellent CB’s, CL winners. Now reduced to Dan Burn.

These last two games smack of experimentation to me. Tuchel is clearly trying tactics and players. Personally I am going hold off on the condemnation, just for a little while.

I’m not sure there is much experimentation with Jordan Henderson and Kyle Walker in the squad, 35 and 36 respectively when the finals come round. And 6 current or former Chelsea players.

Although to be fair my condemnation of the manager started long before a ball was kicked or a player picked - so what is transpiring is of no surprise at all.

I actually miss Lee Carsley
I actually miss Southgate! After Hodgson, Southgate, at least at the beginning of his tenure, was a breath of fresh air, not taking Joe Hart to the World Cup etc. It would have been so easy for him to have said something like "Yes Hart's now crap as he proved against Iceland, but he's experienced and we're going to need that experience." Surely Tuchel doesn't think that the likes of Henderson and Walker will be decent options next year? (Assuming we make it!)

I accept last night was experimental with a load of bored and tired players playing a meaningless end-of-season friendly (or not quite end-of season for anyone involved in the World Club Championship), but even so that was lifeless.

I will grant you, calling up Henderson and Walker is fairly pointless, but I count 3 first team players in that team last night. No wonder they got booed off the pitch.

Tuchel's job is to make a difference at tournaments. I'll save judgement until then.

Three points dropped ?

Team ranked 19th in the world turned up to play football. England seemed to want to get it over and done with.

Can't really read anything into these friendlies. In fact, apart from Serbia home and away, and Albania away, they'll be nothing to read into nothing for some time.

Seems I made a good decision not to watch at all having had the arsed bored off me and giving up 15 mins into the Andorra game.

I am definitely not trusting the Tuchel process so far either, guys!

Just reinforces my view that we are so lucky to be Albion fans these days

It’s been boring so far under Tuchel.
We will be competitive by the time the WC starts though. The biggest problem we will face is other teams who were in a relative lull for a few years may have picked up by then. France have some particularly strong young players. Spain were a class above us at last Euros and may be stronger next time.
There were a few tournaments where there was a perfect storm for England winning and we let it slip. Maybe a top class, winning track record manager would have made the difference, particularly the Italy final.

Definitely the logical objective thing to do.

But, it sticks in my throat we had a plan with Southgate, promoting from within the England setup, and whatever we say about Southgate, and I for one hated his cautious approach, he got us within touching distance of winning.

All that planning and succession appears to have gone out of the window again though and we’ve just gone with a name who has won a couple of things on a short term contract with no real investment in what the job is other than it being a big job to him.
