didnt anwser the question bluebird!

No, Danny, I will not be there in October. My working arrangements make midweek away games impossible, unless they are only a couple of hours away. I have managed to get to a midweek friendly at Yeovil and a Carling Cup match at Kidderminster so far this season, but midweek trips further afield cannot be done I'm afraid.

My first ever away game with Cardiff City was in August 1975, when I travelled to the Goldstone Ground to see City win 1-0 with a Tony Villars goal. You were probably only a glint in the milkman's eye at the time.

Our hooligan problem: blah blah blah, same old stuff. Much of it correct, but much of it also outdated. The last time your lot came to Ninian Park was September 2001. Thankfully, plenty has changed since then and the place is much safer and far more comfortable for away fans. There has been no significant trouble either inside or outside Ninian Park for a couple of years now. I'm not pretending the problem has gone away, of course it hasn't, but things have improved significantly.

The Ninian Park and the Prince of Wales are Soul Crew pubs? Are you having a laugh? Lets' be honest, your information is hopeless. You'd better give me a shout if you are going to travel down in February, or you might accidentally end up in a REAL Soul Crew pub!

The Welsh tickets: the Welsh FA have been given 6,500. Of those, 4,000 are going to committee members and sponsors. There is uproar about it here. The 2,500 that are going to the real fans are only going to people on the FAW database who have previously travelled away - the applications are apparently being vetted to make sure those who deserve tickets the most get them. Rest assured, there will be no Soul Crew allocation.

Hooligan problem same old stuff, fine, but you are taking the attitude of most Cardiff fans, that is not really an issue. I am sure it is better, but lets be honest it could not get much worse as your fans did seem to be 20 years behind the rest of us.

The 2 pubs stated may not be your lads pubs, but when the cabbie dropped us outside the Ninian Park Pub (he thought it would be funny to drop us there and not the ground) there were some characters in and around it, that wanted to do some upper body work on us. After the game we went into the Prince of Wales as we had a wait for the train and the individuals in there were not exactly pleased to see us. So they may not be the main pubs but from that visit they were not exactly away friendly.

Just because your lads do not have tickets for the game does not mean they will not travel. You cannot stop people travelling within the same country, no passport checks that day. Also the way the general sale went, via Ticketshafter, means that it was easy enough to get a ticket in the home end, as long as you had an English address.

What pisses me off with Cardiff more than anything is the fact that it is cracking city, have had some good nights in Penarth and round St Mary's Street(?), but go there for football and on the last couple of visits going to Ninian Park has been like entering a time warp, even the OB told us as we had got the train we had to take our chances.

Uncle Buck: this debate has been done to death on previous occasions, but I'm not sure what you expect us 'ordinary' Cardiff fans to do about the problem exactly? Also, I find it amusing that you are supposedly so offended by City's hooligan following on the one hand, yet on the other you seem excited about the prospect of trouble at the England v Wales game. So how does that work? Anyway.....

Chappers: is that a Super Furry Animals avatar I see there? Those damned Welshies, huh? They get everywhere, don't they?

For God's sake TLB has been on this board for years now and has always been honest and decent. Try not to tar him with the same brush as other so called Cardiff supporters. Lets' not forget we have our own set of 'so called' supporters. Yup Cardiff have a mob, but so do Rochdale et all. I'll be going to Manchester for the game and I hope it is a great advert for British football. and of course an English win.

I remember reading before the playoff final how the Soul Crew were out to get us and Brizzle City but strangly enough there didn't appear to be anyone around. Sometimes they become an urban myth IMHO.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Getting back to the original thread, yes I am going, cant wait as a matter of fact, it was planned before two of my ex-collegues were made redundant so its going to be a great day out and a sort of farewell bash at the same time.

Should get there about 1ish and then hit the boozers straight away, meeting up with 10 or so Rangers fans we met in Portugal so that will be a laugh too.

Managed to get a half decent deal staying in Chester, so all in all its going to be a gala day out, and my first real football/beer/lads weekend of the season:clap2:
