Bloody hell what a hit from Buttler. Have some of that. Straight back over the bowlers head and into the second tier of the stand!!!

And another 6

Close. 287/6

Jos Buttler 47 from 16 balls. If he'd hit that last ball for 6 it would have been the fastest 50 EVER in one day cricket

Just makes the spineless prodding around from Cook, Bell (for most of his innings), Trott, Root and Bopara all the more pathetic. :nono:

Harsh on Trott and Bopara. Bopara came in with Morgan in that awkward period after 2 wickets had fallen and a few overs still to bat. If he'd thrown the bat he'd have been slaughtered for doing so if he had got out cheaply.

Cook was only in for about 2 overs before wasting a review which cost Trott his wicket. And Bell was just as culpable as he threw his wicket away having used some time to play himself in.

Always thought that if Bell had as much ability between his ears as he has with a bat then he'd have been a much better player.

Between them they scored 180 in 246 balls. Which would have seen England to a total of 219. Not good enough.

Only because Morgan and Buttler managed an extraordinary 96 from 56 balls faced, did we end up with anything like a workable total.

Don't understand why Prior isn't playing

Only the selectors understand no one else does. One if not the best wicketkeepers in the game and an explosive batsman too and somehow we pick wickies who keep missing chances. Utter utter madness.

I think he paid for his reckless batting attitude, but has matured a lot since those days. Shame they don't see fit to give him another chance. He could get in on batting alone.

The selectors hardly come down on the worst person for reckless batting a certain south African.
