Did I hear correctly? Commentary said that was his first ton in the 4th innings of a test

At Lords I would imagine. I can think of four.

Nope. Definitely said it was his first ton in the fourth innings.

Yeah, I miss-read the question.

I thought he meant the first winning ton in a fourth Test innings. They had just been talking about it. Apparently it's only the fourth at Lords.

On another note, I think Mark Taylor has been a wonderful addition to the commentary box. I wish he was there full time. Greatest leaver of the ball I ever saw. Always knew his stump position.

We have Bob Hope and No Hope of winning this. Absolute none - would be surprised if we get within 100 of the target.

And that's why I am hopeless at the Brighton score predictor. :ffsparr:

I am now saying we have no hope of getting to a cup final and staying in the Premier League next season :vuvu:

This is only the second test England have won in London since Cook retired at the end of the 2018 summer, that one before today being against Ireland

Pretty sure they beat Australia at The Oval in 2019.

You’re quite right, for some reason I’d had that down as a draw, presumably confused with the series which was drawn.

Ironic that Root played a captain's innings having stepped down as captain. A true great.
