This constant late swing is very ominous.

Also, does anyone else think that Mitch Starc looks a lot like Rob Brydon?

England 98/2

Not a bad morning I suppose. Cook disappointing, Root unlucky, not a lot he could do about a rip-snorting yorker that moved late.

Honours about even there, but if the Aussies keep their over rate of 13 per hour up they'll be in the field for an extra hour, so a long last session - and we know how Matt Prior enjoys taking the game away from a side that is tiring in the field.

He bowled no worse than anyone else in that test. England were just poor as a collective.

It depends on how you look at it, one of the things the current England set up prides itself on is giving people a proper go & not selecting horses for courses. Pattinson was a rare exception and was subsequently sent to the scraphead without a second thought. I can understand how someone could see this as being a little unfair.

I think the only mistake they made was picking him in the first place. He wasn't awful, and the press were poor to him, but all you could blame the ECB for is giving him a game

Where's that really good middle order batsmen gone?
Oh we've moved him up the order so we're left with Unfulfilled and Promising

Sweet Jesus, Building us up as favourites has done us no favours. We are currently looking like a bunch of twoddle.

England in "batting like clowns in first innings of a series" shocker.
