Stuart Pearce did that with David James at Manchester City once, only he can explain that...

That was chasing a goal to get them into Europe. Desperate times call for desperate measures and he won a penalty that game! Shame Fowler couldn't put it away though....

This however, is clearly just taking the piss!

Not technically, no, but Frank Queudrue handled a ball that James was going to head in from a pretty short distance out. Was against Middlesborough in the 04/05 season.

James going upfront was pre-planned because he had an 'outfield' shirt with his name and number on and wasnt a spur of the momen thing.
