But that situation, ie Germany winning and us losing, would result in us having to play them. Whatever way you look at it, I think we HAVE to win the group for the more favourable run, mainly as finishing second could result in the Argies in the quarters, whereas winning the group puts them off until the final.

If we want to win the thing we have to beat better sides than Germany so if we play them now or later it doesnt really matter.

Owen needs time on the pitch to score a goal.
Play rooney in the "hole" to give him match minutes and allow him to cause maximum damage.
Keep crouch on with the wingers playing.

Keeps all yellow carded midfielders off the park to allow a clean start in the last 16. (And gives the key first choice players a rest).
