He basically just looks like an upgrade on Maguire. Which we all know he is. It's shocking to think Maguire has played so much more than him. And f*** off everyone who says 'but Maguire is great for England'. Dunk would have been better. He's way too good to be playing against Championship players and it shows.

Here’s a stunning stat …. Dier …. 49 England caps.

If he replicates that in the second half the masses will be scratching their heads at why he’s not been involved before.
Southgate will certainly be under a lot of pressure not to revert to the old guard/conservative football after this so far. Imo there are no game where we need to play two holding midfielders, nor now to play the likes of Henderson or Maguire. Play to our strengths with the squad we have, as we are tonight.

Southgate is a man who worries more about opposition players rather than seeing what we have, which is miles clear the best attacking talent we’ve ever had, we are combining the best attacking talent we’ve ever had with the most negative manager we’ve ever had.

So hopefully the proud record of England always winning when there’s a Brighton player in the starting XI will continue.
Not just starting XI.

When Ward and White came on in their games against Australia and Austria respectively, England also won.

Also, only 1 goal conceded when BHA players are playing. That was when Tommy Cook started up top against Wales in 1925.
