Marvellous, they've left that fanny james Beattie out.

I think that is an okay squad personally.

Would Alan Smith not have deserved a go? Our forward line up without Owen is poor.

And Thompson definately deserves at least 45 mins.:(

At the end of the day its only a friendly so doesn't matter greatly really besides we'll all be watching or listening to the mighty albion get their seaosn back on track so won't be too bothered about the England game

ALAN SMITH is too much of a liability with his shit temper!! I agree in that I would like to see Vassell given a proper game and see how he goes!

at last!!! a manger has picked a team for a friendly ,which include trialists,

this is what we need,

as for Alan Thompson,i say if they dont play in a decent league then they dont desirve to play for England,

henrick larrson is a good player but until he proves himself in a decent league he will never be a great player!

Thompson may or may not be any good - we will never know all the while he is being tested against the Red lion and the Dock and Duck every week.

Rooney, Heskey, Vassell. And to think Van Nistelroy dosen't get in the Dutch team.

Agreed Mr P, you cant pick a player who plays in Scotland.
Simply not playing proper football week in week out.

Alan Smith should get in the squad I think, hes the only player doing it for a piss poor Leeds side and deserves another go.

Popkins you slice

GROUP A P W D L F A GD Pts
1 Lyon 4 2 1 1 4 4 - 7
2 Celtic 4 2 0 2 6 4 +2 6
3 Bayern Munich 4 1 2 1 5 5 - 5
4 Anderlecht 4 1 1 2 3 5 -2 4

that looks a pretty strong league to me :jester:

As for Larsson you tell me which British based player has scored the most goals in European competition, I'll give you a clue his initials are HL ?

Redland - yes, but look at who Celtic and Rangers have to playt each week - not sure they would quite be in the same position as Celtic. So basically Thompson gets 4 tough games a year plus any European games.

The United v Rangers game the other day also showed the difference in the leagues.
