Got stuffed in the warm-up game, and now Tres is flying home for personal reasons. Marriage on rocks ??

Not a good preperation for first test. Bit of deja vu here from Pakistan.

Would like to see Cook get a go if Vaughan is unfit. Saying that, Strauss looks short of form too. Not very encouraging.

oh bloody hell here we go again:

England opening batsman Marcus Trescothick is flying home from the tour of India for personal reasons.

Coach Duncan Fletcher said: "Marcus is flying home for a family reason and I hope his privacy is respected."

With Michael Vaughan, Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood injury worries ahead of the first Test, two extra players have already been called up.

Alastair Cook and James Anderson are due to arrive in Nagpur on Sunday, where the Test starts on Wednesday.

Opener Cook and seamer Anderson were drafted in from the England A squad in the Caribbean after captain Vaughan's knee problem flared up again and Pietersen and Collingwood suffered sore backs.

Paceman Simon Jones, meanwhile, missed the final warm-up game against an Indian Board President's XI - which England lost by eight wickets - with a stomach bug.
