I know we are all gloomy about the football result against France yesterday, but I just wanted to congratulate our Cricket team for whitewashing the Kiwis. It's the first time we've done that to any team since 1978 when we whitewashed the...er....Kiwis.

The last couple of hours of the match yer brilliant to watch yesterday. Graham Thorpe - what a player!

Menawhile, WTF has happened to our rugby team. World beaters to 5th or 6th best in less than 12 months, and humiliated in NZ! What's all that about?

Indeed, Giles and Thorpe played brilliantly yesterday following a great bowling performance from Harmison and Giles again.

Who got MoM?? I missed the very end.

I though Giles would have been MOM.

he bowled well, and kept the batting going when we were about to disintergrate.

Here's a radical idea, why dont they paint a faint red line down the middle of the pitch wicket to wicket, then the umpires will know if the ball piches in the danger zone for LBW's...I am particularily thinking about some of the attrocious decisions given...expecially Stauss's in the Second Innings that under the laws of the game was not out

Agreed Dave - I think Mr Taufel (sp?) needs to brush up on the laws of Cricket...

Strauss was extremely unlucky to be given out. The ball seemed to pitch at least 6 inches outside of leg.

I would have given Giles MoM, he bowled with great control (what a ball to get Cairns!) and his batting in both innings won us the game.

Thorpe got MoM although must have been run close by Giles and Harmison.

Excellent performance from the team and to score 280 in under a day in such difficult circumstance is exceptional, gone are the days when we defend and defend, this side are intent on attacking in almost 'Australian like' manner!

Was much more nervous about this result than I was about the football!!
